Pascal Laugier's directorial feature debut, Saint-Ange (he also wrote the screenplay) has a strong cast, headed by two of France’s most talented young actresses, Virginie Ledoyen (The Beach and 8 Women [+see also:

) and Lou Doillon, the daugher of Jane Birkin and Jacques Doillon.
Produced by Richard Grandpierre for Ekwad, a production company owned by StudioCanal, with Christophe Gans (The Company of Wolves) as the project’s associate producer. Saint-Ange is about a series of supernatural phenomena that take place in a former orphanage in a deserted mountainous region of France in the 1960s. The film will go into production for 11 weeks as of 7 April and will be distributed by Mars Distribution.
Saint-Ange will also be one of the first French fantasy films and represents a challenge for its two stars. Virginie Ledoyen, who is riding a wave of huge popularity, and has a new film, Bon Voyage [+see also:

, directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau, and co-starring Gérard Depardieu and Isabelle Adjani, scheduled for release on 16 April.
