Echoing its success at the recent Robert Awards (the Danish “Oscars”), Open Hearts [+see also:

by Susanne Bier won three top Bodil Awards: Danish film of the year, best supporting actress for Paprika Steen and best supporting actor for Nikolaj Lie Kaas. This is proving to be Steen’s year of grace: she made history by winning two Roberts (best actress and best supporting actress for, respectively Open Hearts and Jesper W. Nielsen’s Okay.
Open Hears a Dogma film was a huge domestic box office success with over 509.000 tickets sold.
Other Bodil recipients included Jens Albinus who took home the best actor award for Nils Malmos’ black and white drama, Facing the Truth, Pedro Almodòvar’s Speak to Her [+see also:

was voted best non-US film of the year while David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive was deemed the best US film of the year.
