Alice Rohrwacher in the running for Göteborg's Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award

At the beginning of 2012 Alice Rohrwacher's international carrier is making progress, as is that of her multi-award-winning first work, Corpo celeste [+see also:

As well as having been selected out of competition to the Sundance Film Festival (see the news), taking place on January 19-29, the Tuscan director is one of eight candidates to the Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award of the Göteborg International Film Festival, which runs from January 27 until February.

Rohrwacher will compete for the Swedish festival's award for the best international first works against seven other directors, including Belgium's Gust Van Den Berghe and Nicolas Provost, respectively for href="f.aspx?t=film&documentID=201876">Blue Bird [+see also:

After a resounding success at the latest Cannes Film Festival, Corpo celeste has won, among others, The Nastro d'argento for Best New Director (see the news), The Sergio Amidei 2011 Award for Best First Work (leggi la news), awards at the festivals of Villerupt and Annecy and a nomination to the London Film Festival 2011 Sutherland Trophy.
