swept the Danish Robert awards (eight wins) and collected three Bodil statuettes, named Best Film by both committees. From behind bars in provincial Denmark, Lindholm has moved to the Indian Ocean for his second feature, The Hijacking (premilinary title) about a pirate raid on a Danish cargo ship, which has just completed principal photography off the coast of East Africa, with Magnus Nordenhof Jønck behind the camera.

A co-writer of the DR-TV series Borgen/Government, Lindholm, who won the Nordic Council Film Prize 2010 for his work on Thomas Vinterberg’s Submarino [+see also:

, has scripted the drama which begins in a shipping company when the alarm goes - Somali pirates have captured a vessel. While despair spreads among the seven hostages and their families, the company topper is trying to get the crew safely home for the lowest ransom possible.

Danish actor Pilou Asbæk, who played the lead in R, also has the main part in The Hijacking as the cook on board the captured ship, while Søren Malling – a regular in The Killing DR-TV series – plays the owner of the shipping business. The cast also includes Dar Salim and Roland Møller.

”A moving story that's of great interest at the moment and some excellent shooting in the Indian Ocean could make The Hijacking one of next year’s artistic and commercial successes,” said Commissioner Kim Leona of the Danish Film Institute, which has chipped in €900,000 for the project, which is packaged by René Ezra and Tomas Radoor for Danish major Nordisk Film Production A/S. Nordisk will also release the film late 2012, while TrustNordisk handles foreign sales.
