Boris Lehman at the Beaubourg
Belgiam filmmaker, Boris Lehman, is the subject of a major retrospective at the Pompidou Centre in Paris from 19 March to 8 April 2003.
The programme includes the screening of 80 of Lehman’s films and an exhibition of his photographs. The February issue of Belgian webzine Cinergie also includes an interview with Lehman by Philippe Simon.
"My life changed in 1995. I describe what happened in the first chapter of my Filmed interviews where I say that I no longer want to make films. I will go on : I really don’t want to stop making cultural products like, for example L Leçon de vie or Muet comme une carpe. (...) I don’t use screenplays and there are no barriers in my work. That is why I always tend to film fragments of my life, often as they are actually taking place. That is my kind of minimalism. "
