Bogdan Mustata is shooting his first feature, Wolf

by

Bogdan Mustata (pictured), who won a Golden Bear with his short A Good Day for a Swim (2008), started the production of his first feature, Wolf. The shooting takes place in Bucharest and is expected to end on November 12.

Written by Mustata over several years, Wolf tells the surreal story of a teenager, Lupu (Wolf), a 16-year-old loner who secretly yearns for a meaningful connection with others. Keeping his emotions under wraps, he rarely speaks, and his world is mostly contained within his apartment building, where he lives with his mother. Both of them still miss Wolf’s father, who died when the boy was still very young. Wolf also rejects his mother’s new boyfriend Florin, the reason for his going on the run from their apartment more often. But then suddenly things change again, as his mother surprisingly gives birth to his father after a strange stomach ache...
