In collaboration with the Federal Office for Culture, film promotion agency Swiss Films grants an annual sum of €300,000 to support the foreign distribution of Swiss films.

At the final funding allocation session of 2010, held in December, four European distributors were granted a total of €60,000 between them. These include two French companies: KMBO, which is handling the French release of Véronique Reymond and Stéphanie Chuat’s The Little Room [+see also:

on the same territory. They received €25,000 and €15,000 in backing, respectively.

Finally, an additional €5,000 in funding was granted to Austrian distributor Poool Filmverleih for the launch of Gitta Gsell’s documentary Bödälä - Dance the Rhythm.

The Swiss foreign distribution funding programme gives priority to companies in member countries of the MEDIA Programme. However, any funding obtained through this scheme cannot be combined with support from the European programme.
