- The Belgian webzine looks at national productions: rewarded abroad but ignored at home

The latest issue of the “Cinergie” webzine focuses on the curious fate of Belgian cinema. Although Belgian productions win praise and admiration at the numerous foreign festivals they take part in, and win prizes which are the gateway to world film markets, too few Belgians choose to see national films.
Cinergie also looks at the latest Belgian short films, a fast-developing sector, with Eric Lacroix, whose latest film, La paille et la poutre, will be presented at the forthcoming Festival of Love Films in Mons (14/21 Feb), while Gilles de Voghel (X-Film) and Iao Lethem won the Grand Prix at the Angers Festival for Mamaman.
The webzine features a visit to the set of Qui veut la peau de Roberto Santini? by Olivier Tolet and Jean-Juline Colette; an interview with Boris Lehman during the retrospective of his work at the Pompidou Center in Paris form 19 March to 8 April; as well as a dossier about the latest books by Patrick Leboutte about documentaries.
