ICO for ICAA
- Instituto de Crédito Oficial renews collaboration with Spanish Film Institute to the tune of Euros 45 million
Spain’s Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO) announced that it will finance the national film industry (represented by the Instituto de la Cinematografia y de las Artes Audiovisuales – ICAA) to the tune of Euros45 million for the coming year. This is an increase on last year’s Euros43.2million and the overwhelming majority of the money (Euros40million) will be spent on production. However funds have been earmarked for the setting up and/or modernisation of Spain’s film theatres.
ICO has supported the Spanish film and audiovisual industries financially since 1995. To date, the institution has assigned Euros186.2 million to produce 226 films and build and equip 95 new cinemas.
