London Film Critics Circle Nominations

The London Film Critics Circle announced its nominations for the 23rd Awards Ceremony that will take place in London’s Dorchester Hotel on 12 February 2003.
Mike Leigh’s All or nothing [+see also:

lead the field with 5 nominations in major categories like best British film and British director of the year. Sam Mendes’ Road to Perdition got four nominations: best film, British director, supporting actor, Jude Law, and screenwriter of the year,David Self.
Ken Loach’s Sweet Sixteen [+see also:

was nominated three times: best British film, screenwriter, Paul Laverty, and best British Newcomer for Martin Compson whose fellow nominees include Asif Kapadia (The Warrior [+see also:

).
In the British actor of the year category, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Dirty Pretty Things [+see also:

).
As for screen legends like Michael Caine (The Quiet American), Jack Nicholson (About Schmidt) and Al Pacino (Insomnia), they will fight it out to see who takes home the best actor of the year award.
This year’s contender’s for Best Film are Bowling For Columbine, Donnie Darko, Lantana, The Road To Perdition and About Schmidt, and the Best Foreign language Film nominees include Nanni Moretti’s The Son’s Room [+see also:
