- Belgian capital hosts review of films, exhibitions & concerts about Mediterranean culture, 28 November - 7 December

From 28 November to 7 December Belgians will be given a welcome opportunity to familiarise themselves with various aspects of Mediterranean culture in a review that includes some previously unknown films produced in or about this region.
The programme of the 7th edition of the Mediterranean Film Festival is one of the most comprehensive and rich ones to date and includes a Franco-Algerian co-production by Yamina Benguigui about the problems Algerian immigrants encounter when they come to France, entitled Inch’Allah Dimanche. The review also includes films from north Africa, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Greece.
The international jury, presided over by Georges Moustaki, will assign a cash prize to assist the distribution and/or promotion of the winning film(s).
One of the festival’s most interesting sections is Medoc (Mediterranean Documentaries). It encompasses some twenty documentaries about various subjects like the Middle-East conflict (Bombes humaines, En direct de Palesatine, Gaza, l’engerment) and social and political issues; Au temps du Ramadan and Ben Barka: l’equation marocaine.
Mediterranean culture extends beyond cinema and these aspects are represented at this festival with exhibitions, concerts and a photographic journey through Marocco as portrayed by photographer, Bruno Barbey. One evening will also be given over to celebrating the end of Ramadan.
