Success for Alain Sarde’s films

- An ambitious programme by the French producer kills rumours of cutbacks after Vivendi's troubles. Line up includes films with Depardieu and Fanny Ardant

French production company, Les Films Alain Sarde, a subsidiary of StudioCanal has put together an ambitious programme that goes some considerable way to denying the rumours that the company was scaling down its activities as a result of the Vivendi Universal debacle. VU is the majority shareholder in Les Film Alain Sarde.
The company has put together an interesting line up for late 2002 and early 2003 that includes: Hungry Heart by Emir Kusturica who is scheduled to wrap in December. January will see Anne Fontaine begin filming Natalie X, with a brilliant cast of stars lead by Fanny Ardant, Emanuelle Béart and Gérard Depardieu. In April Patrice Leconte will begin production work on Confidences trop intimes with Sandrine Bonnaire and Fabrice Lucchini.
This is a particularly intense time for Les Film Alain Sarde. The company is involved in the launch of Mike Leigh’s latest film, All or Nothing. The film was funded entirely by Les Films Alain Sarde, who are scheduled to repeat the experience by co-financing Amos Kollek’s forthcoming feature entitled, Nowhere to Go But Up starring Audrey Tautou, with Germany’s Pandora and France’s FRP.
