Focusing on debut and second features, the 15th Young Filmmakers’ Festival in Saint-Jean-de-Luz crowned Sam Taylor-Wood’s Brit film Nowhere Boy [+see also:

film profile], which enjoyed triple success, winning the Chistera for Best Director, the Audience Award and Best Actress (Anne-Marie Duff). The film will be launched in France on December 8 by Mars Distribution.

The Special Jury Prize was handed to Russian director Slava Ross’s Sibérie, Monamour (“Siberia, Mylove”). There were two accolades for Angelo Cianci’s French film Top Floor, Left Wing (see news – Memento Films Distribution on November 17): the Youth Jury Prize and the Chistera for Best Male Newcomer (Aymen Saidi).
