Audiovisual Centre splits €4m among eight features
The Croatian Audiovisual Centre has announced the results of the funding competition for feature and documentary films.
Arsen Anton Ostojic will receive €633,168 for Halimin put, to be produced by Arkadena. Ostojic’s previous film, No One’s Son, won Best Film and Best Director at the 2008 Pula Film Festival.
The same amount will go to Bobo Jelcic’s Odbrana i zastita, by production company Spiritus Movens.
Ozana Film will get €619,240 for veteran Krsto Papic’s Cvjetni Trg. As will Artizana, for Branko Istvancic’s Most na kraju svijeta. Istvancic’s previous film, Ghost in the Swamp, is among the five highest-ever local grossers since Croatia's independence.
Maxima Film’s Mirni Ljudi by Ognjen Svilicic will receive €591,734. Svilicic’s last outing, Armin [+see also:

film profile], won the Silver Dolphin at Festroia, the East of West Award in Karlovy Vary and the FIPRESCI Prize in Palm Springs in 2007.
Pavo Marinkovic’s Love Life of a Gentle Coward, produced by Alka Film, has already been made and premiered at Pula in 2009. It received an additional €220,257 that it was owed from last year’s competition.
Ivan Livakovic and Vlatka Vorkapic will each get €385,440 for their respective debut features, Svinjari (Interfilm) and Sonja i bik (Fos Film).
Another €297,224 will be divided among 15 short documentaries, and three feature documentaries will share €182,246.
