Guido Chiesa shooting film on Mary of Nazareth
Colorado and Magda are co-producing with RAI Cinema the new film by Guido Chiesa ( Johnny the Partisan, Lavorare con Lentezza), entitled Io Sono Con Te (“I Am With You”). Shooting began recently in Tunisia – in Matmata, Monastir and El Kef – and will last eight weeks.
Written by Chiesa, Nicoletta Micheli and Filippo Kalomenidis, the film centres on the story of a girl who lived in Galilee 2,000 years ago: Mary of Nazareth. "She, and the birth of Jesus, ushered in a new era in the history of mankind. The questions the film asks are today more all'ordine than ever and regard having, raising and educating children, the role of women in society, the sense of the word love, from a squisitamente female perspective," says a press release on the film.
Io Sono Con Te stars Fadila Belkebla (The Right Distance [+see also:

film profile]) and Djemel Barek (Munich, Les Revenants) as Mary and Joseph, in a cast that includes Mustapha Benstiti, Carlo Cecchi, Giorgio Colangeli, Fabrizio Gifuni. Ahmed Hafiene, Nadia Khlifi, Rabeb Srairi and Jerzy Stuhr.
