Wild Bunch pulls out all the stops at EFM

After several years of "chilly relations" with the Berlin selector, Wild Bunch returns with a vengeance to the Berlinale with two films in competition: Michael Winterbottom’s US/UK co-production The Killer Inside Me [+see also:

and Chinese director Zhang Yimou’s A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop.

At the European Film Market, which kicks off today, Vincent Maraval’s team will be hoping for success with a raft of immensely appealing titles. New films on the line-up include François Ozon’s Potiche (see news); Andrucha Waddington’s Lope (see news); Lodge Kerrigan’s Rebecca H. (produced by Les Films du Worso and starring Géraldine Pailhas); Chinese director Wang Bing’s Wind and Dust (co-produced by France, Belgium and Portugal); and Spanish filmmaker Iciar Bollain’s Even The Rain, whose cast includes Luis Tosar and Gael García Bernal.

Sales negotiations are also underway for Jérôme Salle’s The Burma Conspiracy (which is currently shooting and stars Tomer Sisley and Ulrich Tukur); Bertrand Blier’s The Clink of Ice (see news); Xavier BeauvoisOf Gods and Men (see news); Antony Cordier’s Happy Few (see news); Audrey Estrougo’s Leila (see news); and Nicolas Cuche’s Second Chance.

At Berlin, Wild Bunch will also continue pre-sales for titles in post-production, with promo-reels for Pierre Salvadori’s Full Treatment, Peter Mullan’s Neds, Gregg Araki’s French co-production Kaboom, Nikita Mikhalkov’s The Exodus, and Sam Gabarski’s A Distant Neighbourhood.

Wild Bunch will continue sales on the basis of the screenplay for Ken Loach’s Route Irish, Nanni Moretti’s We Have a Pope, Jean-Luc Godard’s Film Socialism, Swedish duo Ola Simonsson and Stjärne Nilsson’s Sound of Noise and Momcilo Mrdakovic’s Mamarosh (co-produced by Germany, France, Hungary and Serbia–Montenegro).

To round off this impressive armada, Wild Bunch will show a world premiere of Spanish director Julio Medem’s Room In Rome, Kim Chapiron’s Dog Pound and the documentary The Revelation of the Pyramids.

Also on the line-up are US duo Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini’s The Extra Man, Christopher Morris’ Four Lions, Manuel Pradal’s The Blonde with Bare Breasts (see news), and Grégoire Vigneron’s Immaculate (see news).
