Including voiceovers by Vincent Cassel and Diane Kruger, Round Da Way is adapted from a successful TV series which went on to enjoy a cult Internet following. Unveiled in the latest Cannes Critics’ Week, the film won over the press with its creativity far removed from the usual animated hits for youngsters.

With its bold graphics, urban street culture, sharp humour and vivid dialogues tracing the suburban misadventures of Hip-Hop fan José Frelate and bad boy Tony Merguez, Round Da Way is an explosive film.

Klotz commented: "We wanted to make a mainstream comedy, full of action, energy and gags, drawing inspiration from popular live-action films, Japanese animation and US cartoons".

Produced by Millimages for €7.7m, Round Da Way received co-production support from France 2 Cinéma, Studio 37 and Germany’s Toons’n’Tales, an advance on receipts from the National Film Centre (CNC) and pre-sales from Canal + and Ciné Cinéma.
