Patrice Leconte
Born in Paris in November, 1947, Patrice Leconte grew up in Tours, where he attended the Lycée Descartes. In 1966,he moved to Paris to prepare for his entrance exam to IDHEC (Institute for Advanced Cinematographic Studies), where he studied from 1968-69. From 1970-75, he worked for the magazine Pilote as a screenwriter and cartoonist.
In 1975, he made his feature debut, Les Vécés étaient fermés de l’intérieur, starring Coluche and Jean Rochefort. Since then he has shot over 30 films, including Les Bronzés, Tandem and Monsieur Hire. As a theatre director, his work includes Jean Anouilh’s “Ornifle”, Laurent Ruquier’s “Grosse Chaleur” and Anna Gavalda “Je l’aimais”. He has also published two novels: “Les femmes aux cheveux courts” (2009) and “Riva-Bella” (2011). (Taormina Film Festival)
