Eric Rohmer

Born in Nancy on 4.4.1920, his real name was Maurice Scherer. He died in Paris in 2010.

He began working as a film critic for Cahiers du cinéma in 1951 and was editor-in-chief of this periodical from 1958 to 1963.

He made films since 1950. He taught courses at the Sorbonne since 1969.

Also a writer, his publications included books on Hitchcock, Chaplin and Murnau.
