Philippe Claudel

Born in Dombasle-sur-Meurthe in Alsace- Lorraine in 1962. A novelist, he worked as grammar school teacher, taught disabled children, and at a prison in Nancy for eleven years. His book, “Le bruit des trousseaux“, was based on his experiences at this institution.

A lecturer in cultural anthropology and literature at Nancy University II, in 2004 he joined the publishing house Stock, for which he is currently editing a series of books on the topic of wine entitled “Ecrivins”.

After several screenplays, Il y a longtemps que je t’aime, marks his debut as a director.
