Mary Jimenez

Mary Jiménez is originally from Peru. Firstly, she studied architecture in Lima and then, after her graduation, she studied production at the INSAS in Belgium. During her career as a film director, she has also taught film production in Belgium, Cuba and Switzerland. Her first full-length feature film, Piano Bar, won the arthouse film award. Since then she has directed around a dozen films selected at several festivals (Toronto, San Sébastian, Montreal, Berlin-Forum, Cinéma du Réel, Visions du Réel Nyon). The Dei Popoli Festival devoted a retrospective of her work in 2015.
