Michaël R. Roskam

Born in 1972, Sint-Truiden, Belgium. Studied painting at St-Lukas Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels (1997).

He didn’t begin shooting films until 2002 when he completed his first short Haun, which screened at many international festivals.

His next short Carlo (2004) also met with success, winning Best Photography at the Festival du Court-Métrage de Bruxelles, the Public Award at the Leuven Short FF, and several other prizes.

Another popular festival short followed, The One Thing to Do (2005), and then Today Is Friday (2007). (Karlovy Vary Film festival)
