L'ULTIMO PULCINELLA
by Maurizio Scaparro
synopsis
L'ultimo Pulcinella, liberally based on an unpublished treatment by Roberto Rossellini, is the story of an often traumatic relationship between a Neapolitan lad in search of new creative stimuli and a life far from his city, and his father, a street artist who has trouble making ends meet, continuing to sing and act “the stories of Pulcinella" (Mr Punch) in Naples’ squares. It is also about a changing world, of incomprehension between the generations, set in modern day Naples and the Paris of the banlieues, another crossroads of difficult and often violent contradictions, where father and son try hard to build new dreams, also through the theatre. But disappointment will be stronger than hope.
