synopsis
The story of Hanna, and the story of the people in her life and their different paths through changing times. After the death of her father, Hanna`s mother takes jobs that nobody else will touch and they live in places where nobody else will live, and with this comes shame and humiliation. America means a way out and a fresh start. She leaves for the Great West, determined to make money. But her path will eventually return to Siklax, where she starts her own business and earns the name Dollar Hanna. She brings more than dollars to Siklax, however, she has also two small children, and no husband. The prohibition sets in and Otto, Hanna`s son, turns to a life of crime. Will Hanna keep the respect she has earned or will she be humiliated yet again?
