BETWEEN
synopsis
Following his parents’ divorce, Isaac, seventeen, lives alone with his mother. Avoiding all contact with reality, and having no friends, his activities come down to polishing his Samurai sword, listening to his walkman, staying in his room or slipping into the apartments of absent strangers and going through their things. His parents, Roos and Martin, meet regularly in cafés and restaurants, to keep in touch and discuss their past. When Roos confides her worries about Isaac, arguments and reproaches ensue, since Martin seems to have little interest in his son’s upbringing. Approaching the subject of divorce in all its complexity, a couple part, yet continue to feel strongly for one another and cannot make a definitive break.
