synopsis

In the middle of the 1980s teenager Nils moves with his mother Hanne from the town to the country, not too far away from where a nuclear power plant is being built. While his mother is flirting with with town mayor Peter, Nils is busy taking part in militant protests and falls in love with the town mayor’s daughter, Martina. Their peace is disrupted when the Chernobyl nuclear disaster takes place, leaving its traces on North German daily life.
