synopsis

Margherita, a very wealthy girl of Milan is used to a light-hearted and successful way of life, in which everything seems to go the right way. One day her father is unexpectedly jailed under suspicion of involvement in a bribery case. He cannot endure the shame and a few hours after his arrest he commits suicide.
