A LEAF IN THE WIND

by Svetoslav Ovtcharov

synopsis

Vesa, a young Bulgarian girl, is unable to speak. A clairvoyant predicts that she will get better if someone makes a sacrifice for her. The clairvoyant's mentally retarded nephew hears this prediction and sets off after the girl. For the first time in his life he leaves his isolated Balkan village. The modern world is threatening and malevolent towards him, but the natural goodness of the young boy helps him to overcome all obstacles. His love for the girls transforms him. His love also transforms Vesa, who up until then had been filled with hatred for the whole world.
