Centered on the life of Cecco d’Ascoli, who lived from the late 3rd Century to the early 4th Century, a scientist, professor of Medicine at the Università di Bologna. Removed from his teaching position in 1325 because of his lectures on the "commento alla Sfera del Sacrobosco", he was charged with heresy by the Holy Inquisition and sentenced to death in 1327.
