FELLINI AND THE SHADOW
synopsis
Fellini lived with a secret: the one investigated by Claudia, a Portuguese documentary filmmaker trying to make a film about him. The traces of the secret are in his "Book of Dreams" and in Fellini's relationship with Dr. Bernhard, his analyst and a pioneer of Jungian analysis in Italy, without whom the masterpiece 8 ½ would never have seen the light. Traces also appear in coincidences, interviews with friends, and places dear to Fellini: Rome, Rimini, or Jung's Tower House in Bollingen. But what Claudia discovers also makes up a tender, magical portrait: the certainty that, for Fellini, dreams are the only true reality.
