The film tells the story of Guido, a romantic dreamer and high-school literature teacher, whose life falls to pieces when his fiancée, whom he has been living with for years, leaves him for another man. Paolo, one of his former under-achieving students, and now a PE teacher, becomes his unlikely best friend. Paolo does all he can to help Guido out of his crisis, starting by inviting Guido's Milanese parents to Naples. Things take a turn for the better when Guido meets Silvia, his new neighbour. Not only is she beautiful, but she also knows a lot about sport. On first impressions, she seems to be the perfect woman. But does the perfect woman truly exist? This is a question that our protagonists will have to ask themselves…
