FILMMAKERS IN ACTION

by Carlos Benpar

synopsis

This follow-up to Filmmakers vs. Tycoons is a testimony to the manipulation and mutilation of films and the producers battling to maintaining the integrity and respect of their works. A variety of filmmakers defend their moral rights, including Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen. From trials in Paris that defend John Huston's motive to release the coloured version of The Asphalt Jungle, to a case in Copenhagen where the original scope format of a Sydney Pollack film was manipulated for television, the various ways in which films are altered are brought to light.
