METAMORPHOSIS

by Jenö Hodi

synopsis

A group of friends travel to Hungary to investigate an age old tale about Countess Elizabeth Bathory, an evil woman who was accused of drinking and bathing in the blood of virgins. The protagonist of the group, Keith, is a bit of a historian who aims to shed a new light on the story. Bathory had historically been prosecuted for her actions, but Keith claims that her treatment was unjust. He explains that there was an untold side of the story. Elizabeth was beaten by her husband daily and due to his power in the community, she couldn't do anything about it. During their travels in Hungary, the group meet an attractive stranger, Elizabeth, who leads them through the local villages. Keith and Elizabeth end up falling in love and very soon after, she disappears.
