Born on 9 July 1978 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Nana Ekvtimishvili studied screenwriting and dramaturgy at the University of Film and Television Konrad Wolf in Potsdam. Inspired by her memories of her youth, In Bloom, marks her feature debut and has already garnered an impressive number of festival awards.

Simon Gross studied film directing at the film school in Munich, Germany. After directing several short films, he shot his debut feature Fata Morgana in Morocco. He founded his own production companies in Germany and Georgia and served as co-director and producer of In Bloom.
