In receiving the Label, Crawl will benefit from promotional support from Europa Cinemas network and better exhibition thanks to a financial incentive for network cinemas to include it in their programme schedule.
The jury issued the following statement: "Crawl is an impressive debut by Hervé Lasgouttes. He has a strong sense of story and powerfully evokes the atmosphere of working life in Brittany in a tough economic climate. The performances by the two young leads are exceptional. The end of the film is not a happy one, but a sense of hope remains for the characters and the audience."
Crawl tells the emerging romance between Martin, a young man living on casual jobs and small robberies, and Gwen a dedicated swimmer who trains everyday in the sea. Their lives change when she gets pregnant and he is charged with murder.
Crawl is a Sensito Films production, in co-production with AGM and Neon Productions. Premium Films is handling international sales.
