was presented at the 2006 Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight (see article). This time around, the director is making a feature about a family planning centre. Production by Films d’Ici is expected to take place next summer.

Other films selected include the adaptation of Marguerite DurasUn barrage contre le Pacifique, produced by CDP and directed by Cambodian filmmaker Panh, whose films (Rice People in official competition at Cannes 1994) and documentaries (S21: The Khmer Rouge Death Machine and Les artistes du théâtre brûlé out of competition in 2003 and 2005, respectively) have been selected several times at Cannes.

Lastly, the second CNC advances on receipts commission has given its green light to La succession Starkov by cult director F.J. Ossang (L'Affaire des Divisions Morituri, Le Trésor des îles Chiennes and Doctor Chance in competition at Locarno 1997), whose production will be handled by OSS/100 Films et Documents.

Rounding off the five advances on receipts for features is docu-film Z 32 by Israeli helmer Mograbi (a Les Films d'Ici production), whose previous opus (Avenge But One of My Two Eyes) was screened at Cannes in 2005.
