Non Stop gets Canadian link

Stockholm-based NonStop Sales has signed a multi-picture deal with Canadian production house Irreverent Media Ltd. The slate includes The Lighthouse, starring Kevin Zegers, Ryan Reynolds and Ewen Bremner; The Best Restaurant in the World Ever, starring Bruno Ganz; and the mockumentary Gay Like Me?. The last two titles will be distributed in Canada by THINKFIlm.

The deal, initiated at the last Berlinale, was brokered by NonStop’s Michael Werner and IML’s Tom O’Brien.

The British Columbia-based producers are also developing another three titles: My Italian Cafe, Bella Luna and Dim Sum Funeral. "We’re very excited to have the opportunity to work with everyone at NonStop as they have a keen sense of the international marketplace and have shown themselves to be quite adept at embracing English language fare in their line-up”, commented O’Brien.

The other English-language film in NonStop’s line-up – Kill Your Darlings by Bjorne Larson, starring Lolita Davidovich and John Savage – is being negotiated at Cannes for US distribution, and Frostbite [+see also:

, Sweden’s first vampire film, which the company is handling, just sold to Germany (Legend Films), in addition to previous deals sealed at the beginning of the market (see article).
