Impressive 31.6% rise in April admissions

It has been a good year for box office figures in France, with 20.56m tickets sold in April – an increase of 31.6% compared to the same period in 2005. According to figures published yesterday by the Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC), there has been a monthly increase in admissions compared to the same period in 2005. In total, the number of cinemagoers reached 72.65m from January to April 2006 – an increase of 19.5% compared to the first four months of 2005.
