According to the CNC’s estimates, 60.89 million admissions were recorded in French theatres in the first quarter of 2018 – in other words, 0.1% less than during the same period in 2017. Nonetheless, this apparently stable quarterly result was produced by some fairly dramatic monthly fluctuations, as January was clearly up (+11.3%) compared to last year, while February saw a considerable drop (-13.2% compared to the same month last year), before attendance levels bounced back again in March (+7.1%).
