A victory for documentary film at the 32^nd Belfort Entrevues Festival, where the jury awarded the Janine Bazin Grand Prix to No Man Is An Island [+see also:

Sold by Doc & Film International, the director's new film is a continuation of a reflection that started with Le Temps des grâces (2010) and La Ligne de partage des eaux (2014). The documentary focuses on a trip through Europe, from the Mediterranean to the Alps, during which we meet men and women working together to bring the spirit of democracy to life in their local regions and to create an environment for good governance. From farmers at the Galline felici cooperative in Sicily to architects, craftsmen and elected representatives in the Swiss Alps and Voralberg, Austria, all of whom are engaged politically thanks to their work, and united by a common purpose. Will local land be utopia’s final stop? Produced by Mélanie Gerin and Paul Rozenberg for Zadig Films, the feature is due to be distributed in France on 4 April by Météore Films.

Both 25 years old, the couple experienced their first love together. But it’s well and truly over and they’re both now separately committed to building adult lives and opening themselves up to new experiences. The film follows their separate journeys, over a period of one year, season after season.
