The EFADs-CAACI grant renewed for another year

Initiated last year, the development support grant for co-production projects between Europe and Latin America, funded by the CAACI (Conference of Ibero-American Cinematographic Authorities) and the EFADs (European Film Agency Directors), has been renewed. Endowed with €20,000, the grant will once again be handed out at the sixth Co-Production Forum, which will unspool from 24-27 September 2017, during the 65th San Sebastián Film Festival.

The call for projects will remain open until 15 June. A maximum of 20 projects will be selected and pitched during the Co-Production Forum, which last year gathered together 843 industry professionals. Applications are open to feature-length projects that already have 20% of their funding in place and that, if they are European, have some kind of clear connection with Latin America. The grant provided by the CAACI and the EFADs will be awarded to the majority producer on the project, but several other prizes will also be handed out, such as those provided by Eurimages and Arte. Lastly, thanks to the alliance between the Producers Network of the Cannes Film Festival’s Film Market and Argentina’s INCAA (National Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts), the joint organisers of Ventana Sur, the projects selected for the Co-Production Forum at San Sebastián will also have the opportunity to continue their international development process in Buenos Aires and on the Croisette.
