) with help from Raphaëlle Bacqué (the well-known journalist of the Le Monde newspaper and author of several political works), the screenplay follows the life of Emmanuelle Blanchey, a brilliant and determined engineer, who, thanks to the quality of her work, has found her way onto the executive board of French energy giant, Trident. With a 20-year marriage to a considerate husband and two children, her life is a complete success...or almost. One day, a network of influential women offers to assist her in toppling the head of a CAC40 company. But, for a shot at the top, she must put everything on the line! In a world still dominated by men, Emmanuelle must confront even more roadblocks on her path to the top, both in her professional and personal life...

Produced by Tonie Marshall and Véronique Zerdoun for Tabo Tabo Films, Number One has a budget of €6.3 million, including co-production agreements with France 3 Cinéma, Orange Studio and Belgian outfit Versus Production. The film, the rights to which have been bought in advance by Canal+ and Ciné+, is also supported by the Cofimage Sofica. Principal photography is set to run for eight weeks and two days, until 6 December, across the Ile-de-France region, Deauville and Ostend. Pyramide will handle the film’s international sales as well as its domestic distribution.

Tabo Tabo Films has recently worked on Frédéric Mermoud’s film, Moka, as line producer and as producer on Lucie Borleteau’s TV series Cannabis, which will be broadcast on Arte in December.
