Written by the director, who also plays a role on screen, the script focuses on Ernella (Erika Tanko), Albert (Domokos Szabo) and their ten-year-old daughter, who left their country one year earlier, but whose lives in Scotland come to an abrupt halt. Returning to Hungary, they make for Ernella’s sister, Eszter’s (Orsolya Török-Illyés) home in the middle of the night. Eszter lives with her husband (Hajdu) and their five-year-old son in much better conditions than Ernella, who is struggling with serious financial issues. The two families have never really got on, but only Eszter is aware of it, as Ernella loves being in her sister’s home, even though they don’t agree on anything. How on earth will these families be able to live together and put up with each other? And for how long? It’s Not the Time of My Life was produced by Daniel Herner, Andras Muhi, Gabor Ferenczy and Zsofia Muhi for Filmworks, with support from Focus-Fox Studio, Schwindl and Latokep.

Distributed across Hungarian cinemas from 28 April by A-Company, the film, which notably features Szabolcs Thuroczy, Zoltan Fenyvesi and Ádám Fekete, was produced by Judit Stalter (one of European Film Promotion’s Producers on the Move in 2012) for Lakoon Cinema and is being sold by the international branch of the Hungarian National Film Fund.
