Screen Flanders invests €1 million in five international audiovisual productions
Tonic Immobility by Nathalie Teirlinck

The Flemish government, together with Screen Flanders, is investing in audiovisual productions that spend part of their budget in the Flemish Region. Belgian producers may thus request up to €400,000 in refundable advances from Screen Flanders by way of economic support for their expenditure in the Flemish Region. Screen Flanders’ third 2015 session accepted five projects, for a total budget of €1,000,000. The amount of aid allocated to each project varies between €60,000 and €375,000.

Two international co-productions are also being supported. The BBC series The Missing II, written by brothers Harry and Jack Williams, will again take up residence in Belgium for part of its shoot (co-produced by Czar). , a science-fiction farce, in which Nazis who have taken refuge on the Moon following their defeat in 1945 set their sights on returning to Earth. Technically speaking, humankind must therefore repel an invasion of extraterrestrial Nazis. The sequel is set 20 years after the invasion, and hints at an unprecedented alliance between the president of the United States, Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Putin, who in fact are apparently reptiles that have taken on a human form. We have been promised appearances by Stalin, Bin Laden, Caligula, Mao, Idi Amin, Steve Jobs and Margaret Thatcher (but not necessarily in that order). The film is being co-produced in Belgium by Potemkino.
