by Sebastián Borenzstein (which pocketed the Best Film Award in its home country in 2011 and won the Audience Award at Rome, among other accolades), the movie recounts the unusual story of a Frenchman and an Indian man brought together by a cow that has fallen from the sky. Ajith turns up in France under mysterious circumstances. Lost and unable to speak a word of French, he literally stumbles across Pierre, a grumpy, obsessive bachelor of a shopkeeper, who reluctantly takes him in. Through absurd situations and strange coincidences, this small gesture in Pierre’s very well-ordered life will gradually cause him to undergo imperceptible changes...

Produced by Léonard Glowinski for 22h22 and by Philippe Carcassonne for Ciné@, Un Conte Indien is benefiting from co-production by Belgian outfit Umedia Production, a pre-purchase by OCS, and backing from the La Banque Postale Image, Cofinova and SofiTVCiné Soficas. The shoot will continue until 6 March in Belgium and France, with Frédéric Noirhomme serving as DoP. Distribution in France and international sales will be handled by SND.
