MARKET France

A sumptuous showcase for the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris

by

- UniFrance is hitting hard with 84 films, including 57 market premieres, 400 buyers, and a junket for 110 French artists and 100 journalists from 40 countries

A sumptuous showcase for the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris

It's all very well producing varied and high-quality films, but knowing how to put them on show effectively to boost their circulation around the globe is even better. The expertise of UniFrance, the agency for the promotion of French film abroad, in this field needs no further proof, and Jean-Paul Salomé and Isabelle Giordano's team is clearly demonstrating this once again with the 18th Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris (14-18 January). The first market and biggest press junket to be dedicated to French film in the world, the event will bring together 400 buyers, 100 foreign journalists hailing from 40 countries, 110 French artists, and 40 French international sales agents, which will screen 84 movies (including 57 market premieres) and negotiate deals for all the titles on their bulging line-ups.

by Thomas Sorriaux, which will have the honour of opening the Rendez-Vous. Sold by Other Angle Pictures, this film, starring Medi Sadoun and Gérard Depardieu, depicts the misfortunes of a footballer who does not have a very good reputation owing to his various shenanigans, and who is sent by his agent to his childhood village in order to rediscover his values and maybe even patch things up with his father. And then the star sets about training the local junior team and leading them to victory... Interestingly, there are eight other market premieres for Other Angle Pictures, with Louis-Ferdinand Céline [+see also:
