Shot on location in Nördlinger Ries, Frankfurt as well as various places in Brandenburg, the comedy centres on a young farmer who can no longer cope with the strong competition of the big agricultural organisations. When he has to declare his bankruptcy, his girlfriend leaves him and his best friend commits suicide. Then, when a meteorite batters his barn, he can’t stand the situation anymore. He loads his last pig and his shotgun into the sidecar of his motorcycle and travels as an idealistic rebel across the country. On this turbulent trip, he meets many people who are tired of the self-destructive rules of our consumerist society and want to start a revolution in order to make the world a better place.

With Die letzte Sau, Berlin-based start-up a little film production is continuing its collaboration with Lehmann, after Miriam Klein already produced his first feature, Kohlhaas oder die Verhältnismäßigkeit der Mittel. For this road movie, the producer got several partners on board: besides co-producer Ulrich Stiehm with his production outfit Kaminski.Stiehm Film, further partners include ZDF – Das Kleine Fernsehspiel, Pantaleon Films, Arri Media and Arte. The production received financial support from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), FilmFernsehFonds Bayern and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF).

Die letzte Sau is slated to be released by Neue Visionen in the autumn of 2016.
