In mid-March, Cecilia Verheyden began the shoot for her feature debut, Achter de wolken [+see also:

film profile]. The film tells the story of the reunion of two sweethearts following 40 years of being apart. She got married and he went away – that is, until life brought them back together. Needless to say, they fall (back) in love, but can one reignite the spark of those early days? Can a last love be as intense as a first love?

The two lovebirds are played by Chris Lomme – a Flemish actress who began her young career in 1959 and who has made recent appearances on television, as well as in such films as Zot van A. and The Verdict [+see also:

film profile] – and Jo De Meyere, another highly loquacious TV actor. They are joined by young actress Charlotte De Bruyne, winner of the Ensor Award for Best Newcomer in 2013 for her role in Little Black Spiders [+see also:

Young director Cecilia Verheyden cut her teeth in television, as well as on major Flemish productions like Dossier K [+see also:

film profile] and Zot van A. The movie, which is adapted from a theatre play, was written together with its author, Michael De Cock, who, incidentally, staged the play in 2011 with the exact same lead actors. The shoot will continue until 21 April in the regions of Leuven and Antwerp.

The film is produced by Peter Bouckaert for Eyeworks, in co-production with the Dardenne brothers’ Les Films du Fleuve. Eyeworks is due to kick off the shoot for Say Something Funny [+see also:
