Loosely based on The Moods of Marianne by Alfred de Musset, the story, written by Louis Garrel and Christophe Honoré, centres on Vincent, a film extra who has only known Mona, a sales assistant in a train-station sandwich shop, for one week, but is already head over heels in love with her. But Mona has a secret: every night she heads back to sleep in prison...

Produced by Anne Dominique Toussaint for Les Films des Tournelles, Les deux amis is co-produced by Arte France Cinéma. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+, the film is also being backed by the CNC’s advance on receipts and by the Gan Foundation for cinema. Distribution in French theatres will be handled by Ad Vitam.
