Presented on January 11 at the Magazzino delle Idee (the ideas magazine) by artistic directors Annamaria Percavassi and Fabrizio Grosoli with collaborators and city representatives by their sides, the programme has once more given space to films of the highest quality from Central and Eastern Europe.

, will conduct a master class on January 20 named “How to tell the story real life (and win a Golden Lion).”

A total of 16 titles have been selected to take part in the short competition. An out of competition section has been designed to include 15 animation shorts from Central and Eastern Europe.

The collaboration with Sky Arte will inaugurate this year a section named the Trieste FF Arthouse, dedicated to contaminations between cinema and contemporary art. An open meeting called "made in Friuli Venezia Giulia" will take place on Sunday, January 19 in order to evaluate what has been an extraordinary year for documentaries and fiction films made by directors from the region or in the region itself. Critics and audiences alike applauded films such as Zoran: my nephew the idiot by Matteo Oleotto, audience award during Critics’ Week in Venice and winner of many more at other international venues and TIR [+see also:
